Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has provided a positive update on Mohammed Kudus, hinting at the possibility of the West Ham winger making an appearance in the team's second AFCON game against Egypt.
Kudus, who was unavailable for the opening match against Cape Verde due to an injury, has been training with the team and is showing signs of readiness.
Speaking at the team's press conference ahead of the crucial game against Egypt, Hughton expressed optimism about Kudus' potential return to the lineup.
"Kudus trained with the team in the last few days and looks good to go. We all appreciate that his injury before our first game ruled him out. We are going to have a look at him until the final moments and decide whether he is in with a shout of getting some minutes," Hughton revealed.
Highlighting the significance of having a player of Kudus' calibre, Hughton emphasised his potential contribution to the squad.
"He is a massive addition to the squad, and his form this season with West Ham demonstrates his qualities. Hopefully, he is in a position to help the team on Thursday," Hughton added.
The Black Stars, in need of a positive result against Egypt, are hopeful that Kudus' potential return will bolster their chances of securing a victory and advancing to the next phase of the competition.
The decision on Kudus' inclusion will be determined closer to the match based on his fitness and readiness to contribute on the field.
