Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has unveiled plans to donate ₦300 million to support victims of drug abuse and orphanage homes.
Taking to X, the music icon shared that the generous donation will mark his 32nd birthday on November 21, 2024, as part of his annual charity initiative.
This will be the fourth time Davido has made a publicized donation.
In November 2021, he contributed ₦250 million to 292 orphanages in honor of his 29th birthday.
In July 2023, the Awuke hitmaker extended his philanthropy by donating ₦237 million to over 400 orphanages across Nigeria.
The trend continued in February 2024, when he partnered with the David Adeleke Foundation to pledge another ₦300 million for charitable causes.
The post he made read, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow.”
Now, ahead of his 32nd birthday, he wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “Once again my birthday this year, we donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m . Details to follow soon ❤️.”
