Sensational France based Ghanaian gospel musician NaaEfia Charlotte has shared her worst humiliating experience in her musical journey.
According to her, she was prevented from performing in a church because of slippers.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nana Kwame host of OC Showbiz review show on Skyy Power 93.5 FM monitored by BogaalihashimNews on Saturday, November 27, 2021, The 'shout hallelujah' composer revealed that, "I was in Takoradi for some performances and I was suppose to return the next day when I was approached by someone I had known for some time to come and perform in his church because there was a revival ongoing that evening, I didn’t refuse because I had nothing to do that evening and I was returning the next day”.
She continued “ The person took me to the church and registered my name and my performance was added to the program outline. As I was waiting to be called, the MC approached me and told me that the woman of God in the church says I can’t perform in slippers, it dawned on me but I decided to forget about it, thinking that I will eventually to be called up on change since I was a guest.”
“Honestly, I was in slippers at that time because I was pregnant and medically advised not to wear heels. I sat till the program came to an end and my name was never mentioned to give a performance. At that moment, I felt saddened, humiliated and rejected”
She concluded that, what encouraged her was the fact that the rejected stone is always the cornerstone and that throughout her Ministry as gospel singer since she was 12 years, this incident really saddened her, she being rejected because she was in slippers.
